Yanci Alexander Algarin is a dedicated medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School with roots in Puerto Rico. As a first-generation Puertorriqueño in the United States, Yanci is deeply committed to serving underserved communities and advocating for diverse patient populations. Currently, he is dermatology research fellow at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine this year, between her third and fourth years of medical school. Yanci's medical school journey has been a purposeful stride toward Dermatology, driven by the aspiration to impact lives through culturally competent and sensitive care. The goal is to forge meaningful relationships with patients, addressing their needs with empathy and expertise. On his free time, Yanci enjoys going to the gym, playing soccer, playing super smash bros., and spending quality time with his family and friends.
