Johns Hopkins Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
Dr. Lee M. Akst is Director of Laryngology in the Johns Hopkins University Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. After completing college and medical school at Yale University, he finished his Otolaryngology residency at the Cleveland Clinic and then did a Laryngology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He treats laryngeal disorders related to voice, swallowing, and breathing and often uses lasers in both the office and operating room to address pathologies such as vocal cord leukoplakia, papilloma, vascular lesions, phonotraumatic lesions, airway stenosis and cancer.
