Graduate Researcher
Shu Chien- Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA 92093, USA
Yu Ping is a bioengineering graduate researcher currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego and he recieved his B.S. in Biology at the University of Utah.
Focusing on cutting-edge research in immunomodulatory biomaterials, nano-immunotherapy, and cellular senescence, Yu leads important projects aimed at advancing our understanding of regulatory T cells, tumor inflammation, and aging. As a graduate student researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Fanny Chapelin and Dr. Lingyan Shi, Yu Ping has made pioneering contributions in tracking Treg distribution and metabolic dynamics in aging using multimodal imaging for clinical applications. Under the HuBMAP program, Yu has also excelled in the application of a variety of imaging techniques with a focus on label-free imaging and immunohistochemical approaches.
Their research results have been published in several book chapters and manuscripts, highlighting contributions to the field of bioengineering and dedication to improving medical outcomes through research. Yu's skills in MATLAB, Python, and advanced imaging technologies, as well as his leadership in innovation challenges and science outreach, underscore his commitment to scientific excellence and community engagement.
