Justin W. Marson, MD is a second year (PGY-3) resident with the Department of Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Marson graduated summa cum laude and earned both his bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and his medical degree from the 7-year accelerated BA/MD program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. After graduating, Dr. Marson completed his internal medicine internship at University of California, Irvine Medical Center.
Dr. Marson has served as a study investigator with the Acne Treatment and Research Center, exploring pathogenesis (with a focus on the microbiome) and treatment options for acne vulgaris and rosacea under the mentorship of Hilary Baldwin, MD. He has also completed additional training as the Clinical Research Fellow with the National Society for Cutaneous Medicine under Darrell S. Rigel, MD, MS and published multiple papers studying healthcare access through the lens of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer for which he has received several awards and recognition at national dermatology conferences.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Marson holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, enjoys weightlifting and singing, and has starred/featured in 11 musicals and Broadway revues, including RENT and Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphosis.
