Aaron Aguirre, MD, PhD is an intensive care cardiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), a core faculty member at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at MGH, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His research laboratory develops and utilizes high resolution imaging tools to understand the biology of acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, and circulatory shock. In addition, the lab has a translational effort utilizing data from the cardiac care units at the MGH to design and develop novel devices, clinical diagnostics, and predictive analytics for heart failure, circulatory shock, and cardiac arrhythmia. As an attending critical care cardiologist at the MGH Heart Center, Dr. Aguirreās clinical practice involves care of medical and surgical patients with all forms of advanced heart and lung disease.
