In today’s challenging healthcare environment, the importance of innovation has never been greater. Creating an innovative culture requires having a structured process and framework that educates, trains and rewards individuals who engage in innovation. The “Magic Wand Initiative” was created at Massachusetts General Hospital to empower and engage healthcare professional in problem-based innovation. It is designed to bring innovation directly to clinicians, reduce the barriers to engagement and provide necessary resources for clinical and research faculty to work collaboratively to solve unmet needs and generate outcomes. This session will highlight the importance of clinician led innovation and provide examples of clinicians who are doing this now.
